Discover, in this authentic setting and within rooms furnished true to the original, how the Berlin merchant family Knoblauch lived here some two hundred years ago. The exhibition [Everyday life in Biedermeier Berlin: Humboldt, Schinkel and the Knoblauch Family](https://staging.stadtmuseum.de/en/exhibition/berliner-leben-im-biedermeier) provides background information on the house’s residents, their famous guests and the era between the end of the Napoleonic Wars in 1815 and the Revolution of 1848. In addition, a special presentation by our junior curators, entitled “To have a Match!”, explores love, friendship and partnership 200 years ago and today.

## The Sunday at the Nikolai Quarter

Every first Sunday of the month, we offer a packed programme of events for everyone at our three museums in the Nikolaiviertel. Families are especially welcome – admission is free for everyone under 18 or eligible for concessions. So look forward to some great activities at the Ephraim-Palais, the Nikolaikirche and the Knoblauchhaus!

Our solidarity-based pricing model offers free admission to adults who can provide proof of eligibility for concessionary rates, including students, apprentices, those undertaking voluntary social service (FSJ), environmental service (FÖJ) or federal voluntary service (BFD), people with severe disabilities, refugees, recipients of basic income support or unemployment benefit (ALG I), and many others. Everyone else pays only the museum admission fee and can benefit from our particularly affordable combined ticket for all three museums. The extensive programme of events is included in the price!
