It tells the story of Brandenburg through the eyes of the citizens themselves: their history, their experiences, their stories. <em>Brandenburg.Ausstellung <\/em>offers space for updates, discussion, intervention and participation.<br><br>The 14-chapter exhibition tour opens with a\u00a0<em>Brandenburg.Panorama<\/em>, which features introductory films on the political history of Brandenburg-Prussia and on Brandenburg\u2019s history of migration. In addition to 228 original objects from 72 lenders, the exhibition features ten large-format thematic maps of Brandenburg\u2019s historical landscape, ten video sequences with \u2018living portraits\u2019 of historical personalities and ten media stations with informative video and audio, historical documents and games. The #menschbrandenburg format introduces contemporary civil society initiatives into the exhibition&#8217;s historical narrative.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"block block-headline has-default-color block-no-margin\" >\n\t<div class=\"container-fluid\">\n\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xs-12 col-md-7 col-md-offset-5\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"box\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"h3\">Loans from the Stadtmuseum Berlin<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"block block-copy\">\n\t<div class=\"container-fluid\">\n\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xs-12 col-md-7 col-md-offset-5\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"copy\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><em>Brandenburg.Ausstellung <\/em>provides an overview of Brandenburg\u2019s cultural history from the Middle Ages to the present day in around 300 exhibits. The Stadtmuseum Berlin contributed seven paintings from its collection. The &#8220;Portrait of Amalie Beer&#8221; by Johann Karl Kretschmar, painted around 1803, is on loan in Potsdam thanks to the Hans and Luise Richter Foundation. In 1701 he crowned himself King of Prussia. The reconstruction of the castle began under his reign. King Frederick I is portrayed with the insignia of his new rank: in ceremonial armour, an ermine-trimmed purple cloak and the chain of the Order of the Black Eagle.<br><br>The tablecloth woven through with gold also shows the crown above the coat of arms of the Electorate of Brandenburg. King Frederick\u2019s pose is borrowed from a 1701 portrait of Louis XIV, whose pose became a standard for rulers throughout Europe.\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"block block-copy\">\n\t<div class=\"container-fluid\">\n\t\t<div class=\"row\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"col-xs-12 col-md-7\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"copy\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Other works are on loan from the collections Childhood and Youth, Everyday Culture, Decorative Arts, Theatre, Music and Literature, Geology, Numismatics, Sculpture, Silver, Ceramics, Liturgy and Furniture. After the association rejected a painting by Edvard Munch in 1892, Leistikow, Max Liebermann and others founded the <em>Vereinigung der XI<\\\/em> (Association of the 11) in protest. The rejection of his painting <em>Der Grunewaldsee<\\\/em> by the jury of the <em>Gro\\u00dfe Berliner Kunstausstellung<\\\/em> \\u00a0(Greater Berlin Art Exhibition) in 1898 led to the founding of the Berlin Secession, for which he served as a member of the board until his death. It is made of tinplate, leather and brass. The armour is modelled after the armour of the Gardes du Corps, a cuirassier regiment of the Prussian Army. The regiment was raised by Frederick II of Prussia in 1740, increased to three squadrons in 1756, and led as the 13<sup>th<\\\/sup> Cuirassier Regiment. After the association rejected a painting by Edvard Munch in 1892, Leistikow, Max Liebermann and others founded the &lt;em&gt;Vereinigung der XI&lt;\/em&gt; (Association of the 11) in protest.
